Construction: The bridge plug is designed as a cylindrical or tapered device, resembling a solid rod or cone. It is engineered with specific dimensions and sealing elements to fit and isolate the desired wellbore section.
Dissolution Process: When the dissolvable magnesium bridge plug comes into contact with wellbore fluids, the magnesium alloy reacts with the fluid, initiating a controlled corrosion process. This gradually dissolves the bridge plug over a predetermined period, allowing for the restoration of fluid flow.
